San Antonio Zoo Les Whitt Memorial Scholarship
The San Antonio Zoo Les Whitt Memorial Award was created to honor the memory of Robert Leslie “Les” Whitt, former director of the Alexandria Zoological Park in Alexandria, Louisiana. The Award, which promotes advanced training in animal husbandry for zoo and aquarium colleagues from countries in Latin America and the Caribbean Basin, provides full scholarship funding to participate in either of the following Association of Zoos & Aquariums’ (AZA) professional training program courses: Managing Animal Enrichment and Training Programs or Principles of Program Animal Management.
The San Antonio Zoo provides annual funding for this scholarship.
REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must be employees or associates of Latin American zoological institutions or related facilities. For this scholarship, preference is given to keepers or curatorial staff.

Applicants must possess a functional proficiency in English.

Individuals may submit only one scholarship application per year.
