Mike Crocker - Dickerson Park Zoo
Conservation Education Scholarship
Established in 2009, the Mike Crocker - Dickerson Park Zoo Conservation Education Scholarship honors excellence in conservation education programming and promotes the development of conservation leadership capacity in Latin American zoo and aquariums. The scholarship provides full funding to qualified Latin American zoo and aquarium professionals interested in participating in the Association of Zoos and Aquarium's (AZA) Conservation Education: Effective Program Design professional training course; a week-long program that provides educators with a comprehensive overview of how to develop, implement, and evaluate conservation education programs and interpretive exhibit elements. Employees or associates of Latin American zoological institutions or conservation organizations may apply.
The Friends of the Dickerson Park Zoo of Springfield, Missouri provides annual funding for this scholarship award.
