Naples Zoo Caribbean Conservation Scholarship

 

The Caribbean is home to some of the planet's most unique and endangered species, including AZA SSP program animals like the Cuban crocodile, Jamaican fruit bat, and Puerto Rican Crested toad.  The Naples Zoo Caribbean Conservation Training Scholarship promotes the conservation of the region's diverse wildlife by providing capacity building and training opportunities to a segment of the conservation community that warrants increased attention and resources. The scholarship may be applied toward any of the Association of Zoos & Aquarium's professional training program courses

 

The Naples Zoo Caribbean Conservation Training Scholarship is sponsored by the Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens in Naples, FL.

REQUIREMENTS

 

  1. Employees or associates of zoological institutions or related facilities located in the islands of the Greater and Lesser Antilles, Belize, Suriname, Guyana, French Guiana or with programs along the coasts of Venezuela or Colombia may apply.  For this scholarship, preference will be given to applicants that can demonstrate involvement in regional wildlife or habitat conservation initiatives.   

  2. Applicants must possess a functional proficiency in English.

  3. Individuals may submit only one scholarship application per year.

DEADLINES

Applications for the 2017-2018 program year will be available on June 1st!

 

A committee comprised of representatives from ZCOG, the sponsoring institution, and/or the AZA Professional Development Committee will review the applications and select the scholarship recipient.
