CONSERVATION PROGRAM
Meaningful and effective wildlife and habitat conservation require ongoing commitment. ZCOG demonstrates its dedication by establishing and maintaining long-term institutional partnerships to support conservation programs throughout the Americas. Each conservation partnership is selected with care to ensure that programs have clear goals, enlist community support, and have an appropriate, skilled, and respected team in place that includes local staff.
ZCOG serves as a financial, logistical, and administrative agent for these range country conservation projects, and undertakes fundraising, grant writing and communication on their behalf, while coordinating support from North American partners. As a result of ZCOG’s work, conservationists can focus their energy where it is needed most—protecting wildlife.

Purace, Andean Condor Chick

A seven second video of Purace, an Andean condor chick born near the Atlantic Coast of Argentina's Rio Negro Province. Purace represents the third Andean condor chick born to captive raised parents that were originally released in Patagonia as part of the Andean Condor Conservation Program's 'Return of the Condor to the Sea.' ZCOG has been the largest program sponsor of this effort.
