This annual scholarship award covers registration fees, airfare, and room and board for any of the Association of Zoos & Aquarium’s (AZA) Professional Development courses. The award is intended to provide professional training and networking opportunities for our zoological and conservation colleagues in Latin America and the Caribbean Basin. Employees or research associates of any zoo, aquarium, or related facility may apply. Preference will be given to applicants demonstrating involvement in cooperative field conservation efforts with AZA member institutions or other regional partners. Award recipients are selected by joint consultation of the AZA Board of Regents and the Executive Director of ZCOG. Award selection is based primarily on merit, and need will only be taken into account should there be a tie. Only one scholarship is awarded per year.
